New CD on the way After months of recording and overdubs The Rockhills newest CD is fast approaching. We have had the priveledge of working with some darn fine engineers and producers this time around, and the final product will reflect this variety of creative input. We started off down at Blacklodge Studios in Eudora Kansas for our first 4 tunes. Phil did some solo sessions first and layed down bedtracks on some of his great new material. Then Gary, Doug and Pat slipped in for a weekend of dubbing solos, drums and harmonies to finish them off. Next we traveled back into Kansas City to work with Michael Moreland at Hammerhead Studios, laying down 6 more new tunes by Gary and Doug. Hammerhead is a new facility owned and operated by Mike who is a fine musician and Jazz composer in his own right, and who has worked with all the big name jazz cats in KC. Luckily he also has a long history of playing and writing rock and roll, so he brought great production skills, a super friendly working environment and invaluable creative input to the sessions. The final tweaks and touches will be applied to all the tunes by Pat Tomek (our esteemed drummer) at his studio - Largely Desktop Productions. No one knows "The Rocks" like Pat, and his steady hand will apply the polish to give the final product that sparkling "Rocks" shine. We have also been working with local multi-media guru Lenny Nuccio to offer a small quantity of enhanced dvds with all the new tunes as well as several music videos and live footage of "The Rocks" doing what they do best; performing. The Rockhills would like to thank and give due props to the talented fellas who have been involved in this latest production, we are absolutely delighted with what we are hearing and think when you hear it, you'll love it too.
